Milwaukee WI- June 27, 2007 - CCI is building a data center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that is scheduled to open in the summer of 2007.
The data center, which is under construction in the renovated Independent Electric MNFG Company building located in the fifth ward, will bring additional jobs to the City & State, according to a statement. The jobs include data center managers, Linux & Windows administrators and SAP® technology assistants.
"We're thrilled to announce our plans for a data center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which will help us continue to provide our users and customers with the best possible service," said Christopher Carter CCI’s CEO. The statement also said CCI is building the new data center to support the growing demand for its services.
The new data center is the largest technology investment that CCI has made since it was founded in 2002, according to CEO Christopher Carter. "This wasn't as much a move as it was a revamping of the technology," Carter said. "We actually redesigned the entire network core and the entire infrastructure for the building.
The 2,200-square-foot data center boasts a 10 Gigabit Ethernet backbone, and the PowerEdge blade servers that support CCI have been upgraded to Dell Inc.'s 9th Generation models. The data center will include state-of-the-art security equipment and back up power supply systems to further ensure the 24/7/365 environments our clients depend upon.
